RCSMP is Flying Safe

Know Before You Fly

RCSMP Opening Day / Field Cleanup; Sun. April 24th – 9 AM

Mark you calendars; Sunday April 24th at 9 AM will be the official opening day for the Radio Control Society of Marine Park.
Opening day means field cleanup day; the time that we prepare the field for the season ahead of us.
The field will be closed to all flight until cleanup is complete. The more who are able to chip in, the faster we get flying. Bring your self and a pair of work gloves.
Garbage bags and tools will be provided by the club.
Following the cleanup, there will be a pizza lunch provided by the club.

In case we’re rained out, our contingency plan is a rain date of Sunday May 1st.

Update from NYC Parks Dept.

Updated April 8th:

NYC Parks Dept: “Due to the inclement weather forecast for tomorrow, the decision has been made to reschedule our event to a later date (5/21, register here).”

The field will be closed to flying on Saturday, April 9 due to NYC Parks Dept. work. Volunteers will be performing extensive cleaning of the entire area. Members are welcome to assist. Thank you.

RCSMP Field Closed Sat. 4/2 – NYC Parks Dept.

The RCSMP field will be closed on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the request of the NYC Parks and Recreation in order to have a major area cleanup. Parks equipment will be on site. No flying allowed while work is going on.
We were asked to paint over the graffiti on our containers. We have the paint. We need some volunteers to assist with this work. Thank you.
